Welcome guests,
Several boating addicts, including myself, decided we would create a forum where REAL boat people could share their thoughts, ideas, expertise, and humor without a bunch of whiners who are mad at the world for whatever reason. In fact, this forum was started as a joke on TN Freebird on another forum, hence the url. It could be said we're the black sheep of the Internet boater forum world, but we have a good time.
This is our virtual marina where most anything goes. While this forum is comprised of boaters, most with years of experience, we focus on the social side of boating more so than on the technical side. In a perfect world, no boater would ever have mechanical, electrical, or maintenance issues to contend with. However, as with any good group of friends at a local marina, we'll chip in and offer our expertise in helping you resolve a problem. Nobody ever bought a boat just to work on it all the time, and purely technical forums are redundant and boring.
We welcome and encourage intelligent debate over whatever it is you want to debate about. That having been said, intelligent ball busting is both acceptable and expected as long as it's not done in a mean spirited way. Family is off limits, period.
Should you decide to come in and hang out with us, we'll welcome you aboard no matter how large or small or what brand your boat is, no matter how rich or poor you may be... frankly we just don't give a damn about any of that. We are a diverse group and want to keep it that way.
If you think this may be your kind of place, follow the directions on the home page for becoming a member and you can judge for yourself if you want to stick around or get yourself kicked off after joining. We don't really care either way as we're sorta like the Marines who are looking for a few good men and women to keep this place user friendly. You can't post if you're not a registered member, and there are boards you won't be able to view as a guest.
Now, if this little note has offended you, you're in the wrong place. Otherwise, jump on in here with us. The water's fine as long as nobody pisses in it.
Your host,
Freebird
